Practice, practice, and more practice! This was the motto of the latest scientific and practical conference, “Electromyography in Clinical Practice: Root and Nerve Damage,” in which we actively participated.
On September 13-14, 2024, the State Institution “Academician A. P. Romodanov Institute of Neurosurgery of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine” warmly welcomed specialists in the field of electromyography and neurology.
The conference program included lectures by leading experts, master classes on working with modern electromyographs, including in combination with ultrasound, and a round table discussion of clinical cases.
A new format was introduced at the conference: EMG examinations were conducted simultaneously in different rooms, and doctors were able to choose which clinical case they found more interesting. Our patient was a man (a soldier who had been wounded) who had undergone surgery on his cervical spine and was awaiting surgery on his lumbar spine. A team of specialists led by O.O. Geletka conducted an EMG examination, during which doctors expressed their opinions on the examination and diagnosis, methods and techniques of conducting EMG.
It was a real master class on working with our EMG device—neurologists had the opportunity to gain experience working with our device, deepen their knowledge in the field of electromyography, analyze a complex diagnostic situation, and determine the optimal measures for its resolution.
